I know I've been slacking on my blog so much. Lately, I have been sick, and before that I've been hanging out with my friends going out and doing things (my good friend, Vanessa, is visiting from Canada so we've been basically inseparable before she has to leave this week!).
Anyway! On Monday, Vanessa, our friend, Mike, and myself, all went to Downtown LA (DTLA) to experience the tree lighting ceremony. I've been living here for awhile now but I've never experienced all the festivity that the city has to offer, so I was really excited.
We met at Starbucks first to get some hot chocolate and tea. Then we walked around and took pictures of the whole set up. It was so beautiful.
Unfortunately, the ice skating rink wasn't opened yet, so we couldn't do that.
They had a couple of snow slides set up as well!
Apparently, the whole ceremony was going to be televised, as they were setting that up too.
We went to the Figueroa Hotel right around the corner to have drinks. We were starving so we went back to LA Live to go to Yardhouse where we got some appetizers. We were actually so hungry and because there was a Kings game that night, it was so busy and our food was taking forever that we ended up missing the part where they physically lit up the tree. But we wondered over afterwards and it was so packed!
They even had real snow, which Vanessa was very happy about. I, on the other hand, was literally getting pneumonia just having it in my hands.
They also had some kind of snow dunk tank thing? Ya know! Like the water one, but with snow!
And of course, the night wouldn't be complete without a few selfies! :)
Had so much fun with these two, and shoutout to Mike for being a trooper when we starting getting obnoxious and wanting to get pictures of every single thing! ;)
Gonna miss Vanessa when she goes back!
